Chiller City Recovers Refrigerants from Refrigerators, Chillers, Air Conditioners and Other Refrigerant-Containing Appliances

On-site recovery or acceptance of refrigerant-containing items

Chiller City provides on-site recovery of refrigerants for municipalities, waste disposal sites and select individual companies. We do not provide on-site recovery for homeowners. We do accept appliances for recycling/disposal for a nominal fee when delivered to our Mesa, Arizona warehouse. The fee may be waived in some circumstances, but rarely exceeds $25. If you are in charge of a hazardous material site and wish to contract us or have us bid on removing refrigerant in bulk from items accepted from the general public, we can help. We currently perform this service for many hazardous material sites and have the equipment and personnel to perform this service in bulk.

Chiller City performs on-site removal of larger commercial systems such as air-conditioners or chillers. The refrigerant can be recycled and returned to the user, or purchased as desired.

As an EPA certified reclaimer, Chiller City will recycle or reclaim all refrigerants as possible and report the results to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Chiller City specializes in R-22 (CFR-22) refrigerant; however, we also buy back other commercially used refrigerants that are utilized in cold storage, chillers, and processing facilities.

Chiller City’s Refrigerant Reclamation / Recycling Program pays you, the contractor, for your used R-22. Once you have a full recovery cylinder of used refrigerant, simply schedule your pickup. Upon arrival (receipt), Chiller City assigns the cylinder a unique inventory number for tracking and reporting purposes and can provide an empty cylinder exchange if needed.

The refrigerant is then independently weighed and tested. Once tested, you will be paid for your refrigerant and the required EPA record keeping documentation will be completed and made available via our secure online platform.

Refrigerant Cylinder Exchange Program

We can deliver refrigerant recovery cylinders directly to your jobsite. After you, or a Chiller City certified technician, has pulled the refrigerant from chillers, receivers, and storage tanks, simply schedule your pickup and we will send our technician to pick them up.

We pay you for the used refrigerant without any fees for the local pickup of your refrigerant. When the refrigerant arrives back at our facility, it is tagged with our tracking inventory number, independently weighed, tested, and processed for reclamation.

Your refrigerant tracking report will be available to you throughout the reclamation process via Chiller City’s unique web-based tracking system by simply logging in. Once your refrigerant is completely cleaned (processed), you will receive payment for your refrigerant that was sent out for reclamation.

If for any reason you are requested by a government entity to show documentation or record keeping of how your company is managing refrigerants and complying with the Clean Air Act per EPA regulations, your refrigerant report logs will be at your fingertips and easily printed out for review. This system helps save your company the burden of processing and maintaining most of the EPA-required record keeping and allows you to focus on what makes your business profitable.
